The more pregnant I am the more TV George is watching. It's and easy out and lets me rest more and get things done like have a shower in the morning or get dinner ready later in the day. He watches it while eating breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I never planned for George to watch this much TV during the day. I also thought I would limit screen time to an hour a day at most and never thought it would be an issue but it seems as soon as I turn that TV on it just can't seem to turn it off.
As I am still pregnant I'm not ready to go 'cold turkey' with George's TV watching and the fall out from it. But I need to do something now.
So screen free Friday was created tonight.
Tomorrow from when George wakes to when he goes to sleep the TV, laptop and computers will stay off. This will probably make tomorrow hard on me as I will not get the rest I usually do and I will need ideas to keep George occupied all day long.
So far planned for tomorrow is shopping in the morning, then painting in the afternoon. A friend will be visiting in the late afternoon with her kids and then I'll only have about an hour to fill until hubby gets home from work then he can take over and I'll get a rest.
So wish me luck and if you see me online during the day tell me off.

Please feel free to share any activity ideas for my almost 3 year old that doesn't involve too much energy from me.
Try a few of these
Thu 04/22/10 by Liz Q (not verified)Kids will play for hours with matchbox cars making paths in the grass outside, or inside. He can use cardboard boxes and draw on and make houses and gas stations etc.
In saying that, colouring and art stuff is fun for adults and kids, nothing like scrap booking and playing with printed photos (so long as he keeps his fingers on).
Cooking, you make the cookies, he makes the shapes with the dough and decorates them, encourage him to make a family of cat cookies or whatever and colour some with food dye.
Play grounds are a good place for them to walk too, and play with other kids whilst you sit for a bit.
Dont forget playing board games (seems to be a lost art). I think all my kids were playing chess or at least checkers before starting school.
